Olive Oil: Edge Control

Ok, guys, today's review is going to be on Olive Oil's Edge Control. Before this product, I've never used edge control, but I decided to try it to see if my baby hair will hold in place and grow rather than break off. I bought this product around the time I got my jumbo marley twist done and I purchased it at a really good price at Boom Boom's Beauty Supply.
I purchased it for either $2.99 or $3.99, I'm not exactly sure which price, but I know it was really cheap, which is good. As for the use, that's another story. When I first started using this product, I was so much in love with it. It held my baby hair in place and left it looking shiny and healthy. But after a while, I noticed that it would leave a flaky white look on my edges, almost like I have dandruff in my hair. And you know that saying "more is less"? Well, it doesn't apply to this product. In order for my edges to be laid, I have to use so much of this product, it's ridiculous. This product should last me about 1 month and a half to 2 months, maybe three months, but it's barely getting to a month and it's almost finished. And another thing, maybe this applies just to me, but when I put this product on my edges, it makes me scratch like a mad person. It irritates my hair so much, that all I'm doing is scratching and messing up my edges. It's a great product for natural hair females who just started using edge control, but I wouldn't use this product again. The product is definitely worth trying, because we all have different hair types and maybe my hair just doesn't like this product. However, Silk Elements is another edge control product I intend to purchase and try. I first saw this product being used in one of enibaby4 (YouTube beauty guru) makeup tutorials and I loved the shiny and clean look it gave her edges. Sooooo, expect to see a review of Silk Elements edge control soon.

  1. I also used this but didn't work. Edge control usually don't also work for me because after a while it melts and become so oily.

  2. Yeaa, for me it feels all sticky and itches so bad like omg, I cannot describe how bad it itches. Maybe it's just this specific brand, I'm going to try other brands too.

  3. I honestly stop using that brand once I stop relaxing my hair. It only really work on perm hair.
